Roberto Andrés Jiménez grew up in Manatí, Puerto Rico, with his parents and his younger sister Laura (23). After spending 7 years in Ann Arbor doing his undergrad and Masters at University of Michigan and becoming a Michigan Wolverines superfan, Roberto moved to Boston for a job at Harvard.
Sarah Elizabeth Neville grew up in Londonderry, New Hampshire, with her parents and five younger siblings: Evan (21), Claire (19), Emma (16), MaryCatherine (10), and Daniel (10). Sarah went to Tufts University, near Boston, where she studied Chinese and child development.
Roberto and Sarah met on a dating website right before Roberto moved to Boston. In fact, he sent her a message while he was still living in Michigan, before he had even received the job offer in Boston. Sarah and Roberto talked online for over a month and a half before he made it to Boston, when they finally went on their first date in Davis Square. They sat in a froyo shop and tried to get to know each other, but awkwardly realized they'd covered all the normal first-date small-talk topics during their time chatting online.
Their subsequent dates were a little less awkward, for the most part. And a year and a half later, Roberto and Sarah were ready to take the next step. So Roberto took her out for a whirlwind night of salsa dancing and asked her to marry him...or at least that was the plan. Unfortunately, since Sarah does not have the same innate Puerto Rican rhythm that Roberto has, she found her first-ever salsa lesson pretty frustrating—and Roberto spent half the time agonizing over whether she was having enough fun. But when the night was over, he asked her to marry him and, of course, she said yes.
And this is only the beginning of their story. Roberto and Sarah are both extremely excited to welcome you to their city and to their church to celebrate the start of the rest of their lives together!
